All of the areas with wurms are no problem, but i am having lots of trouble with the large areas in the middle and north where u cant use wurms. There are large groups of undead that are very difficult to kill. Has anyone managed to vanquish the area, and how do I kill these annoying groups?

You need a good tank, good monk(s) or good skill setups for heros, and a mesmer to make it butter smooth.

If you think this area is a pain just wait till you try to do Poisoned Outcrops... The area is quite doable up until the point you reach a certain boss group at the far west - then you get multi-party wipes until youre all at -60dp wooooo lol...

There were a couple of threads about this area a few weeks ago, in case you want to check them out in detail. In general, holy damage is key - smiting skills and/or dervish skills. When I did it on my ele, I took Signet of Judgment for myself and I also gave it to all three heroes, and also gave them other smiting skills with holy damage. Note that the undead mesmers often will prevent you from using signets, so take some non-signet holy damage skills also.

QFT. I entered the area from the portal nearest that boss (Sandstorm) to be able to deal with him first.

Judge's Insight is just insane here. Put it on a warrior or assassin using an IAS skill and watch him mow through the undead - it's a real beauty.

You may also want to bring something to prevent the undead from ressing each other. There are groups with two Acolytes and two or three Cavaliers, which can res each other faster than you can possible take them down. Frozen Soil is risky of course, but Rust on the Calaviers would slow them down a lot.

That said, I haven't managed to vanquish that area myself yet.

The Sandstorm boss in Poisoned Outcrops, didn't give me too much trouble, though. BHA for the win! Well, I may have been lucky with the spawn there, too.

For the groups with multiple acolytes and cavaliers, I'd also suggest taking out the cavaliers first. They use their res immediately when someone dies, and it activates faster than the acolytes' res. And they can use it from anywhere, while the acolytes need to be standing right on top of their dead ally. So all in all, the cavaliers are the more dangerous part of the res chaining. One other thing - taking a MM helps a lot for the meat shield aspect and for damaging the carvers when they have vow of silence on (which is virtually always) (the holy damage signets help there too).

Just finished this vanquish now with Hero/Hench on my Dervish, insanely easy with my current set up. Judges Insight from Dunkoro, Warmongers Weapon from Razah and lots of attack skill spamming and hiding behind walls leaving the minions to take hits.

Well really it just depends what profession you are... anything that can easily attack alot of targets with physical attacks can easily take out lots of Awakened by just converting it to Holy. Mesmers and Necros are buggered since Thought Stealers love hexes and all casters are also buggered because they use Life Bond, Shield of Absorption, spam ressurects, interrupts, deactivate vital elites and of course Vow of Silence and Obsidian Flesh. Basically Dervish wins... the highest damage possible, spammable.

Just sucks that half the zone is almost impossible to fail on because its all in wurm form... not that i'm complaining, it just takes AGES.

heroes used
1. Dunkoro -> Spell Breaker / healer
2. Thalkora -> Holy Wrath on my dervish / SoJ
3. Magrid -> Frozen Soil

the rest just up to u

flag ur heroes somewhere further down the enemy aggro point
cast spell breaker, SOJ and all necessaries enchament and move in * frozen soil must be up first*
lure the enemy and then tank with ya dervish watch them go down real quick ^__^

can do even if the henchie are having 60% DP....as long as your tank is having lesser than 30% DP ...if u have too much DP....reduced it at nearest shrine to used some candy ~

When I finished vanquishing Joko's Domain, I just smite bonded it. That is, if you are a Primary Monk you can smite bond it. My monk is my primary so smite bonding turned Vanquishing Elona into a cake walk. On my bar I went Mo/Me with Mantra of Resolve and I remember that I had to cast all my enchantments before aggroing the mobs with the Rangers.

Old Japanese tactic in Meji 14
one agaist a group of samurai

Run! aggro and run because due different in speed some run fast
and some run slow, you can simply take the first person down each time
while other still far behind

Flag hero faraway
I run in poison apply+ Burning arrow natual stride run away
the enemy will follow you like a line and some will walkback

Unflag hero Spike on the front target and flag away, wait for acolyte to renew life, the other will go back ,run in interupt and spike him out

work with every group ^^ I don' like to tank or use specific build I like to use 1 build beat all area xD 34 map either BHA or burning arrow
the hero always 2 ele 1 mm

The key is : Skill ;P 4 four-leaf-clover no wcc rcc or anything else

2 ele Sf and mm
